Where are we?
Highland Basecamp is located in the small village of Lochaline on the Sound of Mull. We're ideally situated for exploring Mull & the entire West Highland Peninsula.
Lochaline is in one of the most remote areas of the Highlands. Perfect for getting away from it all and losing yourself in nature.
We are ideally based for diving, hiking, cycling, kayaking or any outdoor adventures throughout the year.
Just over an hour driving from Fort William and a stone's throw away from the Isle of Mull by ferry — we're remote but well connected.
Self catering accommodation in Lochaline.
Our hostel has 12 private en-suite bunk rooms along with a spacious kitchen & lounge area.
Have an adventure or project of your own that needs a base of operations? Let us know! We're thinking University groups, diving clubs, research trips —
we can accommodate them all!
AIR & NITROX
We offer air & nitrox on site at Highland Basecamp for all sorts of diving.

Recent 5 star review
A fantastic base for exploring the area and very easy to get to Mull from Highland Basecamp.
Me and my wife just had a really lovely three nights there. The beds are comfy. The bedding is lovely. The towels are large, cotton and luxurious. The shower was endlessly hot. The cookware and equipment was nice (decent pans, good non-stick frying pans and induction hob) and the setting was perfect.
The kitchen and lounge area is all set up to encourage geniality, conversation and interaction with other guests and is therefore friendly and welcoming.
Overall I therefore heartily recommend Highland Basecamp to all.
